The Indianapolis Colts have announced that Corey Simon who used to be a Pro Bowl defensive tackle will not take part during the rest of the season since he was placed on the non-football illness-injury list last Thursday. Simon’s illness wasn’t divulged by citing federal privacy laws in order to protect his own privacy. The football player who is the Colt’s squad biggest defensive lineman (300 pounds) had a lot of expectations lying on his shoulders but he hasn’t been able to practice or play since he beat his knee in August. After this injury Simon underwent arthroscopic surgery but according to a written statement that was issued by the team’s President Bill Polian: the injury and illness weren't connected.Indianapolis Colt’s President declared that Simon’s illness is not related to football and it doesn’t threaten his life but it affects the football player limiting his ability to condition, practice and play and it has also been weakening for him.Apparently Corey has lately shown some improvement but he is not ready to go back to the football field yet or any time soon. Simon’s condition has remained a mystery for the last few weeks.Corey Simon used to play with the Philadelphia Eagles but after a contract dispute they released him on August 28 and four days later was signed by the Indianapolis Colts to a multiyear contract full of expectations for the player. But Simon started struggling with his weight and had to learn a new defense.Simon finished with 31 tackles, no sacks, forced one fumble last season, and did not play at his previous Pro Bowl level. When he reported to training camp he said he had lost between 20 to 25 pounds so he would have a better season. But it didn’t work out that well for him. Everybody expects he will return for the next season.
